The Perth Sinhala School celebrated Sinhala New Year on 2 April 2023 at the premises of Leeming High School. Honorary Consul Rosh Jalagge, accompanied by his wife Priyanka, attended as special Guests and were requested to light the Oil Lamp and speak at the opening. Traditional festivities adorned the event to welcome the New Year. The Honorary Consulate endeavours to support the Sri Lankan community in WA and assists the Perth Sinhala School to instil the country’s cultural values in the young who live away from their homeland.
